With a proud legacy, Dairy Innovation Day has earned its reputation as a vibrant and impactful event in the South Australian region.
Dairy Innovation Day 2026 brings together farmers, researchers, advisors and industry leaders for a practical, forward‑looking day focused on Smart Dairying – Leading the Way. Held on 10 June 2026 at The Barn Palais, Mt Gambier, the event will explore how dairy businesses are innovating to grow productive pastures, manage water more efficiently and build resilient systems for the future. Through a combination of technical presentations, real‑world farmer case studies, expert panels and interactive discussions, attendees will gain insights into irrigation performance, soil health under irrigation, feed system transitions, and business adaptation under water and seasonal pressure. From policy and advocacy updates through to global perspectives on water‑limited farming systems, Dairy Innovation Day 2026 is designed to deliver practical ideas, informed conversation and clear take‑home value for dairy businesses navigating change.

Dairy Innovation Day 2026 – Water Innovation: Doing More With Less brings together practical ideas, policy insight and on-farm solutions to help South Australian dairy farmers thrive in a water-constrained future. The day will explore water security and allocations, planning for scarcity, and strategies to maximise production per megalitre, alongside emerging technologies, low-water forages and alternative production systems. It will also look beyond the paddock—examining connectivity, next-generation careers, and flexible farm ownership models—to show how smart use of water, data and people can build resilient, profitable dairy businesses in a changing climate.
